Architectural Vision Systems Combines Minimalist Design and Security
Architectural Vision Systems (AVS), a specialist manufacturer of bespoke, ultra-minimalist glazing systems, has joined Secured by Design, with its accredited Cor-Vision sliding door range.

Based in Kent, AVS designs, engineers and manufactures its products in-house across sites in Canterbury and Ramsgate. The company is known for delivering high-end tailored glazing solutions for contemporary architectural design and complex residential projects.
‘Vision’ is at the core of the company’s philosophy. AVS has developed a virtually frameless glazing system that blurs the boundaries between inside and out, prioritising transparency, light and spatial flow. This allows the architecture, interior design and landscape to take prominence rather than the frame itself.
Their in-house CAD specialists support bespoke projects at every stage, enabling architects and designers to bring their creative concepts to life, from expansive sliding doors to floor-to-ceiling glazing installations that create seamless transitions from interior to exterior spaces.
The Cor-Vision door range exemplifies the company’s approach of combining ultra-minimalist aesthetics with a virtually frameless door system. The range has also been rigorously tested and certified to PAS-24, meeting enhanced security performance requirements to achieve Secured by Design accreditation. Secured by Design (SBD) is owned by the UK Police Service with the specific aim of reducing crime and increasing safety for businesses and individuals.
SBD seeks to improve the physical security of buildings and the surrounding area using products such as doors, windows, locks and walling systems along with fencing systems that meet the SBD Police Preferred Specification security requirements.
SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies.
SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK, through the Police Preferred Specification – a product-based accreditation scheme developed over 25 years ago, which provides a recognised standard for all security products that effectively deter and reduce crime. SBD work with manufacturers and standards authorities to ensure that security standards are current and updated to keep pace with emerging crime trends.

Vision Evo Achieves PAS24 Certification
Architectural Vision Systems today confirmed that its Vision Evo sliding door system has successfully achieved the PAS24:2022 security certification, following testing at ERC Testing.
This milestone makes AVS the first company in the UK to secure PAS24 certification on a virtually frameless, triple-glazed system engineered to this exacting specification. It validates the Vision Evo’s design, proving unequivocally that a commitment to ultimate thermal performance and ultra-minimalist aesthetics can coexist with uncompromising security.
The Vision Evo was engineered to provide ultra-low 0.88 W/m²k U-values, triple-glazing, and 3× better weather sealing than many market-leading slimline doors, without large tracks or bulky frames. Achieving PAS24 certification on a door system featuring fully embedded frames, recessed tracks, and a 25mm sightline sets a new benchmark for the sector.
Driving In-House Innovation
AVS led the Vision Evo’s PAS24 development and testing efforts, underscoring the company’s dedication to innovation. This ensured the system passed the rigorous security and durability requirements of the PAS24 standard and the specifications laid out in Document Q. AVS has now successfully tested various models and configurations, ensuring that our range of doors and windows meets the industry’s highest security benchmarks.
The successful pass confirms that the Vision Evo, which features integrated options like Nuki Smart Locks and Smart Privacy Glass, offers not just convenience but genuine protection.
While the Vision Evo certification was driven internally by the AVS engineering team, the company proudly maintains its long-standing, strong relationship with Cortizo, which continues to ensure profile quality and confidence across its entire Vision Line range.
