Perched on the Cornish coastline, the Coastal Retreat is a testament to modern architectural design harmoniously integrated with the natural beauty of its surroundings. This beach hut, envisioned as a tranquil escape, seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living, offering breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The design concept for the Coastal Retreat revolved around creating a space that felt both opulent and connected to nature. The architects sought to maximize the stunning coastal views while maintaining a sense of privacy and seclusion. The result is a structure that appears to emerge from the landscape, with clean lines, natural materials, and expansive glazing that blurs the boundaries between inside and out.

This project involved the installation of a large, bespoke rooflight for a unique coastal dwelling. The client’s vision was to create a seamless connection between the interior living space and the stunning surrounding landscape. However, the remote location and challenging site access presented significant logistical hurdles.

The dwelling is situated on a small coastal path with limited access, measuring only approximately 1 meter in width. This constrained access significantly complicated the transportation and installation of the rooflight. The two massive glass panes, each weighing over 200 kilograms, required careful planning and specialized equipment to ensure safe and efficient delivery and installation.

Despite the logistical complexities, the installation was a resounding success. The resulting rooflight, combined with the seamless integration of our Vision Line PAS 24 sliding doors, Pivot Line door, and Cortizo Cor-70 windows, provides breathtaking views of the surrounding coastline, flooding the interior with natural light and creating a truly immersive living experience. The seamless integration of these products into the dwelling’s design demonstrates the power of bespoke solutions to achieve exceptional architectural results.
